An interesting variety of Insects

A bright and sunny morning, but rather breezy for last week’s local survey walk.

Strangely I only saw 7 butterflies but they represented 6 different species, including my first Painted Lady of the year.

There were some interesting Hoverflies in the gardens including 2 new species recorded here, a Sun Fly and Lesser Hornet Fly. It has been very interesting concentrating on invertebrates this year and finding lots of new species in my home locality,

There were still a few Azure Damselflies on the pond and a male Common Darter on the main Lake.

Also the first autumnal fungi beginning to appear.
