A statue by Georg Ehrlich, which I came across recently near St Paul’s Cathedral. It was installed in the Festival Gardens in 1973.

Georg Ehrlich was born in Austria in 1897 and served during WW1 in the Austrian Army before travelling to Berlin and Munich. He returned to Austria in 1924 to concentrate on his sculptures. However, in the 1930s he moved again, this time to London following the rise to power of the Nazis. He became a British Citizen in 1947. He completed this statue in 1951. Ehrlich died in 1966.
