Blackheath and Greenwich

First stop this morning was the North of Blackheath (An area I refer to as the Dell). I have often looked at this area on my way past on the bus and thought it could be good for migration birds and a closer look makes me even more certain.

Then onto Greenwich Park concentrating on the deer enclosure and the flower garden as these are least disturbed areas. A Greater spotted woodpecker is drumming as I approach the first view point for the Deer enclosure. I locate a distant Fieldfare and a Redwing.
I walk onto the second vantage point. I can see another Fieldfare and 2 Redwing. I don’t think they are the same ones but cant be sure.

I walk onto a coffee stop at the Observatory

I walk on down through the park to Greenwich Riverside and check the Gull roost which is all Black-headed Gulls plus a couple of Common Gulls.
