Fishbourne Roman Palace (2)

The original first century mosaics found in the Palace were of a black-and-white geometric pattern. The largest of these is the cross box mosaic which was properly in an original reception room. This room was later divided into two smaller rooms, possibly at the time when the palace was extended causing a change in usage of the room.
