A sunny day and a chance to get out and do my local survey walk. With the sun there were plenty of invertebrates on the wing.

By the Tarn, the Bluebells were in full bloom and the family of Greylag Geese are getting bigger.

But the biggest surprise was a Common Sandpiper, which initially was perched on the bar at the east end of the Tarn before a Moorhen chased it off and it flew out of sight into the river inlet channel. This is only my second record of this species on my patch, the first being some years ago.
