On a sunny spring morning I headed out to Lamorbey Park in Sidcup in search of some early Butterflies.

Despite the sunny weather there were no butterflies to be seen as I made my way across the park to the Lake.

As I reached the more secluded end of the Lake a flash of blue flew across the lake and into the vegetation – a Kingfisher! As I watched it was joined by a second. I saw one a number of times during may walk along the lakeside but unfortunately, despite the number of posts for it to use, they insisted n only perching in vegetation and so these were the best photos I could get.

Other highlights were Grey Wagtail and a Sparrowhawk being mobbed as it flew over. On my way back through the park I did see a male Brimstone, my first butterfly of the year and as I waited for the train back home, one of the local Peregrines flew over.
