Winter walk

A rare dry sunny day amongst the wet windy November / December weather yesterday so I took the opportunity for a walk around the Tarn.

The local Canada, Greylag and Egyptian Geese came to say hello. No doubt in anticipation of me having food. But they were unlucky as I wasn’t coming from home and so had nothing for them.

They continued to follow me as I walked alongside the Tarn.

Eventually they lost interest and I continued on towards the Bridge.

In the pool at the east end, beyond the bridge, were a large group of Mallard, together with some Moorhens, Coot and the wintering Drake Teal.

Some small birds flitted about in the trees and I saw Great Tit, Long-tailed Tit and Robin. A Jackdaw and a couple of Crows flew over.

Moving back down the other side, there was little bird activity but the Tarn looked wonderful bathed in the autumnal colours and winter sunlight,

A very pleasant walk.
