Patch update February

29 species of bird seen on my patch this month with 2 new species which took the yearly running total to 34

The number one sighting was the brief appearance of a Mute Swan flying low over the garden which was a first for me on the patch in 13 years of watching. There seems to have been little change over the past couple of weeks with the same cast of characters appearing in the garden and on the Tarn. Its as though everything is gearing up for the big spring rush. Only another 4 weeks or so and we should start to see the migrants start to come through. Also beginning of April marks the start of the butterfly and dragonfly season. Looking forward to getting some good photos this year.
