Following on from a meeting this morning I hot footed it to Canada Water in Rotherhithe to look for a reported Long-Tailed Duck.

Canada Water is a small eco-park comprising what had once been the Canada Dock of the Old Surrey Docks on the South side of the Thames. It is now within a Shopping centre.
On arriving I could see a small duck showing a lot of white on the far side of the water. I hurried over and after about 10 minutes relocated it in the middle of the basin. It gradually came closer and I was able to get some good photos.
Other birds present included Sand and House Martins and a Reed Warbler singing from the reedbed.
