Although we spent the day in London (See posts on Pompeii and Herculaneum exhibition and future posting on Lowry exhibition) there were a couple of notable garden sightings. We continue to hear and see the Green woodpecker around the garden and the Treecreeper was also seen again after an absence of some weeks. The best sighting though was in the early evening when we saw a male Brimstone butterfly on the road to the Tarn as we were returning home.

Proving that you can see birds anywhere. On the way back from the Tate Britain (by boat along the river) I observed 4 species of gull plus a cormorant on a single moored barge near Bankside.
