Originally a woodland bird, the Great Tit has readily adapted to man-made habitats and is a frequent visitor to gardens and feeding stations. In winter it is often seen in flocks with other species of small birds as they roam around looking for sources of food. It is estimated that there is approx 2,5 million breeding pairs in the UK.

Compare the Great Tit (in flight) with the smaller Blue Tit on the post.
