Well that’s what the old proverb says and so Monday I was back at the London Wetland Centre looking for those Garganey. And yes I did succeed this time although instead of being in front of the hide, where they had been seen over the weekend, they were asleep on an island at just about as far from the Tower hide (or any hide) as they could be whilst still being on the reserve! So no photos I am afraid, but if I had been able to, this is what a Garganey looks like.
