In the Pensthorpe Nature Park in Norfolk, there are a number of sculptures depicting wildlife that can be found in the park.

The sculpture of the two cranes celebrates the part played in the project to bolster the UK population of Common Cranes by releasing captive-bred birds (2010-2015). Occasionally, wild cranes would appear at Pensthorpe, no doubt attracted by the sound of the captive-bred birds in their enclosure. There are today, thriving wild populations in the Norfolk Broads and on the Ouse Washes as well as another based around the Somerset levels.
