Birdlog: Tuesday 16th April

Spent today at Arundel WWT reserve. This is a combination of marsh and pools in the Arun river valley about 5 miles from the river mouth at Littlehampton in the shadow of Arundel castle. A drake Garganey was present yesterday but was not seen today. Some good year firsts however including Mediterranian Gull, Cetti’s warbler and Reed warbler.
In the afternoon visited the Adur river estuary at Shoreham and then Brighton marina but these did not turn up anything of interest.
