As well as canals – Amsterdam is a city of bicycles.
One of the most amazing sites is around the central station where there is a multi-storey bicycle park. People can come into the station on the train and then use a bicycle to get to their place of work or vice versa.

An extension to this is at the back of the station where an old ferryboat has been turned into a bicycle park.
Another interesting fact about traditional Dutch bicycles is that they have no brakes. You slow them down by pedaling backwards!
