Return to Cliffe

A bright warm sunny morning saw Keith and I at West Court Farm near Cliffe in Kent. As usual our first stop was at Tabitha’s cafe for brunch before proceeding onto the nearby RSPB reserve. The farm fields were very dry and there were no birds to see.

Moving onto the reserve we quickly noted a large number of Little Egrets present (Over 80 counted by end of visit)

Initially, it was the butterflies and Dragonflies that held our attention.

We did find a number of wading birds on the Black Barn pools including Greenshank, redshank, Lapwing, Oystercatcher, Little Ringed Plover and Green Sandpiper plus a Water Rail. But the best sighting though was probably a Glossy Ibis.
