On my walk this morning, I was surprised to see 2 Red Kites over the Tarn. I only had my mobile phone with me, so not the best photograph. Later I also saw one of the pair of Buzzards that have been around the area for a couple of months.
When I started birdwatching 40 years ago, I would have had to go to the West of England to see Buzzard, whilst Red Kite had been reduced to a small population around central west Wales. So, if someone had told me then I would have them both over my own garden in SE London I would have thought them crazy
