Egyptian Goose

The Egyptian Goose is native to central Africa and the Nile Valley. The UK population dates back to the 17th century when it was introduced as an ornamental species to large estates and parklands and expanded from those sites. In the UK it is found in South East England and East Anglia. The UK population is estimated as around 5,500 birds with 1.850 breeding pairs every summer.
