Andromeda Galaxy

Using the Bradford robotic telescope I have begun experimenting with using different filters to see how the results vary. Here are the results of one recent session photographing the Andromeda Galaxy

BVR is the standard colour filter

Infra-Red filter

IR filters block Infra-red light whilst letting through light in the visible spectrum

H-Alpha filter

H-Alpha filters block all light except that given out by Hydrogen atoms emitting energy. Interestingly here the only source of light is in the very centre of the galaxy.
