Captain Baxter spent it’s working life at the Dorking Greystone Limeworks in Surrey. On retirement in 1960 it came to the Bluebell Railway. Restoration was completed in 1982 and it entered service, although its limited power and brake capacity meant it could only be used on light passenger services and goods demonstrations.
Withdrawn in 2000 for overhaul it was again returned to service in August 2010.
