I came across this interesting piece of artwork above the entrance to a block of flats in West London. I have been trying to find out more details but cannot find any references to who it is by or what the subject is. It appears to be an ancient soldier -possibly Egyptian.
I am semi-retired after a career in medical sciences. I now work from home doing independent research and consultancy amongst other things. One advantage of this is that I do have time to indulge my interests including birdwatching, natural history, steam trains and history particularly ancient history.

hi Pete
I too have been struck by that statue – and when I tried to look it up yours was the only reference to it I could find! Do you think it could be a woman? I wasn’t sure. All very intriguing
The picture appears in a number of blogs relating to the architecture of the building, but no further information is given. One interesting thing I did find were some original drawings of Princes Court and there is no statue above the entrance, so it seems it was not part of the architects original plan. My best bet would be it’s an ancient prince (link with building name) which been embellished by some art deco motifs reflecting the style of the building.
