The Goosander is one of the UKs most attractive ducks. It is often found on rivers and large lakes. They nest in trees and their diet is predominantly fish. It is a wide spread species found in Europe, Asia and North America. There are estimated to be 4000-5000 breeding pairs in the UK with a wintering population of around 14500 birds.
